Jim Harris of the Fort Worth Football Club came to the board meeting to say “thank you” to the association for allowing his organization to work with our kids and seek any feedback we may have. FWFC would like to build a strong relationship with the association and offer more clinics such as coaching, skills and goalie clinics. Feedback from a few coaches was positive. We have entertained the idea of having other clinics prior to the beginning of the spring season. Ginny asked if they could provide some coaching, skill and other such videos to be checked out by coaches. Checked out being as you would check out a library book.
Field status report: The fields were fertilized just prior to the good soaking rain that we received and mowing is on schedule. Ant beds are treated every time Kit is out on the fields; however, they all also pop up randomly when it rains. Another load of dirt was brought in, and Kit was made aware of a couple of fields that needed attention.
Unfinished business:
Academy: Ginny and Will went to Academy and were given a gift card for $250.00. They purchased goalie gloves, ball bags and. They were unfortunately out of cones.
Computers: Anna’s computer still needs a modem. Rhett and/or Kim will see that it is fixed.
Electrical: Apparently, the city has finished with their electrical with the water tower, however, they neglected our request to tie into theirs with our own meter. We are still looking to find a way to get electrical to at least the concession stand and the sprinkler system.
TOC: Will be held on October 14 and 15. U6 and U8 will be playing their regular scheduled games. There are five teams of U10 girls that will play a round robin style due to the fact that there are 5 teams. U10 boys, there are ten teams. There will be 2 brackets of five each. U12 girls there are 4 teams; they will play six games. U12 boys, there are 3 teams. They will also play a round robin. U14 girls, there are 2 teams so they will play one game. U16 boys will play round robin.
Advertising: Still looking for soccer sponsors. Looking for Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorships. The gold gets a 4’x8’ banner and will be placed on the fence facing the fields. Silver and bronze banners go on CYA’s fences.
Clinics: Feedback was positive regarding the clinics that were provided at the beginning of the season. We will arrange for one skill and one coaching clinic at the beginning of each season.
Scrimmages: Feedback on the preseason scrimmages was great. It was great to allow the kids to play on the full size field prior to the start of the season.
Board presence at games: Ginny would like at least two board members present on the fields during games. If anyone needs to find a board member during the game for any reason we are in red shirts.

City contract: Our contract was brought up at the September city council meeting, Ginny was present at the meeting. Concerns – rusted goals, cracks in fields. Other concerns expressed were meeting date, issues in contract, water bill. The goals have been dealt with as well as the cracks in the fields. Our fields had no water due to city error for 2 months yet the association still received a very large water bill. The city manager will address these issues.
