MINUTES OF THE CISA BOARD

CROWLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFICE

8/4/03

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m.

 

Officers Present:  David Jones, Alex Macias, Kim Longenbaugh, Kelly Ortiz, Ginny Ciriot, Laura Sotelo, Marty Stringer, Kyle Davis, Traci Lee, Ed Brungardt, and Pauline Jones.

 

Read and approved the minutes with amendments.

 

Mike Taylor with Memories Sports Photography presented a different picture option.

 

President:  We need to come up with the donation amount for sponsorship to put a sign up on the fence for advertisement.  Email suggestions to David Jones for businesses to ask for donations.

 

Treasurer:      We need to get the referees to fill out the 1099s.  We need the loan information to be able to pay the land payment.  Going to call the 11 referees have checks that have not cleared.  Our balance is $7,042.

 

Major League:  Contacted the coaches from last season to see who will be returning.

 

U8:  Needs a coach’s list to be able to contact last season’s coaches.

 

U6:  Called coaches to see who is returning, and sent out the new rule changes for their age group.

 

Registration:  Had the first registration and we have about 40 kids signed up.  We need to check the dates on the calendar of events.  We need to vote on 2 scholarships

 

Family 1 – Motion to grant a 50% scholarship and the remaining amount paid out over 3 months, seconded and carried.

 

Family 2 – Motion to approve the scholarship, not seconded.  Motion to allow them to pay the registration fee out over 3 months, seconded and carried.

 

Fields:  The fields have been mowed.  The city is working on the parking lot.

 

Fundraiser:     There are 2 coaches left that need to turn in candy money from last season’s fundraiser.  We are going to sell cookie dough for this seasons fundraiser.  The vendor will give a $100 gift certificate from Wal-Mart to the top seller.  We will look at giving team parties at Pappy’s pizza for teams that sell a meet the selling goal for their age group.

 

Equipment:     We have the first invoice in from Soccer Etc.  Soccer Etc will hold CISA Night and Coaches meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd, and Thursday September 4th to pick up uniforms.  Everyone will receive a discount on merchandise in the store that night.

 

Referee Assignor:  There will be a referee meeting on Tuesday, August 26th, at Bicentennial Park at 7pm.

 

New Business:

 

We will table the budget discussion right now.  A committee will meet on Tuesday, August 12th, at 7:30pm.

 

The Metroplex decided U6 to 4v4 with no keeper, U7 to be 6v6 with no keeper, and U8 will be 7v7.  We will decide if the U7 teams will play with the Metroplex after registration is over.  Mineral Wells, Cleburne, and Granbury will be holding referee clinics.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 9:37pm
